OUR CEO
My name is Kobi Naveh (Sisco). I am a graduate of the Kfar Hayarok, as is my wife. I have been a student and an employee of Hkfar Hayrok in various roles since 1968 until the present day. For the past 15 years I have been the General Director.
Hakfar Hayarok was established in 1950 by Gershon Zack. Today we have around 2500 students and are considered the finest and most highly sought after school in Israel, with a 100% Bagrut success rate and a grade of 100 (first place) in the Ministry of Education’s Meitsav (National Growth and Efficiency Indicators) Test. In addition, Hakfar Hayarok is routinely rated the best school in terms of teacher and student satisfaction. For several years running Hakfar Hayarok competitors have won national championships in chess, orienteering, and basketball.
Hakfar Hayarok also operates a Start-up school. In April 2016, six of our teams reached the world science championship in Robotics as well as the NASA-sponsored world championship for youth start-ups. Three of the teams placed among the best in the world.
In August of every year, Hakfar Hayarok holds an International Youth Conference in Environmental Leadership. We also maintain interactive relationships, including youth exchange programs, with 25 countries in the world.
The central principles of our vision include innovation, initiative, and the courage to dream. We believe that every summit is attainable by an education evolution, unfolding the roots of sustainability whose branches cross international borders. (Our full vision statement is attached).
Although Hakfar Hayarok is located in an urban area near Tel Aviv, it has a large beautiful campus with a rural atmosphere. It is also a secure facility. As a closed campus, it is gated and secured by multiple armed guards 24 hours a day.
Two years ago we were joined by Oded Rose, a graduate of UWC in Canada, with the intent of together establishing an International School in Hakfar Hayarok. The result is EMIS – the Eastern Mediterranean International School.
In the future, we aim to make EMIS, like Hakfar Hayarok, one of the best schools worldwide.
HaKfar Hayarok is a non-profit organization and Hakfar Hayarok School is a public institution. All proceeds and donations go directly to benefit the students through instruction and in the special programs we offer.
Along with myself, the management, teachers, parents, and, of course, the students, we are committed to the task of spreading light in our world, and transforming our micro cosmos into a better and more worthy place for mankind.
Sincerely yours,
Dr. Kobi Naveh (Sisco)

OUR FOUNDER
When I was 16 I was fortunate to have an incredible two-year experience at an international boarding school in Canada. We were 3-4 from the Middle East amongst 200 students from 80 countries. I realized how the power of education and more so a total immersion in this international community can develop a deep sense of appreciation for other people from different backgrounds and even from conflicting societies, as unfortunately we have here in the Middle East and in many other parts of the world.
I came back to Israel and had a long career in the local high-tech industry. But all along I kept dreaming of bringing my experience to our region. Through the collaboration with many who supported this endeavor and overcoming numerous challenges we opened EMIS in September 2014 with a strong class representing over 30 nationalities and with 40% of the students from the Middle East. EMIS allows its students to get to know each other in quite a neutral setting, build bridges while offering opportunities they could not have before.
EMIS is a platform for change, for entrepreneurship, for peace, sustainability, for dreams and for hope.
I want to thank our courageous students and their families, our incredible staff and our many supporters for making this dream a reality.

LOCATION AND FACILITIES
Hakfar Hayarok (Hebrew for The Green Village) is a youth village and an education center. Within short driving distance from Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Ramallah, it is a green haven in the midst of the bustling Sharon region in central Israel.
Founded in 1950, Hakfar Hayarok started as a socialistic youth village aimed to teach agriculture to young Israelis and immigrants. It has since grown to be a premier educational center with one of Israel’s leading high-schools, teaching ground-breaking programs focused on personal leadership, environmental studies, and involvement in the community. The campus contains full academic infrastructure, a youth village, and an agricultural farm. The six-year high school has over 2,000 students. Four hundred students live on campus in several dorm buildings and enjoy a rich and unique experience. This vibrant community offers EMIS students a glimpse into a cross-section of the Israeli society and allows them to interact and learn from each other.
EMIS’s location is ideal for both community service locally, and field trips to the south for environmental study projects and the north to the beautiful mountain region. It is just a few minutes drive from the Mediterranean coast and is in close proximity to some of Israel’s leading universities, including the world-renowned Tel-Aviv University with which EMIS has a strategic relationship enabling abundant academic opportunities for the students.
Hakfar Hayarok provides all its infrastructure to the school including dorms, dining hall, sports facilities, swimming pool, arts and music rooms, a library and science labs.
EMIS follows a model of a two-year study and living experience set in a dormitory school with all students and part of the staff living on campus. The school dorms house 4 students per room in separate halls for girls and boys. The EMIS campus has classrooms, an art studio, administration and support infrastructure.
